Common questions

How do I set up the test?

Choose your level and support leg. Prop your iPhone securely with the screen and front camera facing you. Use a clear, level space and fit your whole body and both feet in the preview. Turn sideways with the selected support leg nearer the phone, then follow the voice cues. You do not need to do a full pistol squat.

How do I enable camera access?

Open SquatMark Settings and use Open Settings in the camera section, then allow Camera access in iOS. You can also find SquatMark in the iPhone Settings app. Camera permission is required for the test; microphone permission is not needed.

Why does the app say “Tracking stopped”?

The app could not continue tracking reliably. Stand on both feet, check that your whole body and both feet are clearly visible, and choose Try again. Check lighting and keep the phone steady. This message is not a judgment of your fitness or a diagnosis of a specific movement error.

Why do I need to confirm my result?

A single camera cannot verify every contact with the floor or an outside support. After three machine-counted reps, the app asks about the conditions of your attempt. Only qualifying, confirmed completed results contribute to personal bests and trends.

How do I test the other leg?

Choose Test other leg after completing a test. Keep the phone in place, stand on both feet, and reposition so your other side faces the phone. Follow the new setup and ready cues. Left and Right refer to your own body, not the left and right of the preview.

Can I correct or delete a result?

Open the record in History. Correct result lets you report that you touched down or used support. It keeps the record but removes its eligibility for personal bests, trends, and official result sharing. Use Delete to remove an individual record. To clear all records, open Settings and select Delete all history, then confirm. If deletion reports a failure, use Retry and check the result.

Does deleting History remove backups or shared cards?

No. Deleting records in SquatMark does not remove copies already included in device backups or cards you have shared with other apps or people. Manage those copies in the relevant backup service or destination app.

Does SquatMark need an account or internet connection?

No account is required. Core measurement and local History work offline. Opening this website, sending support email, or sharing through another service may use an internet connection.

Are the results a medical or strength assessment?

No. Results describe this specific movement task for personal fitness tracking. Measurement accuracy and equivalence across devices have not been established. Results depend on technique, fatigue, lighting, clothing, and camera setup.
